| Symantec pcAnywhere 11.5 combines versatile remote control functionality with secure, customizable tools for remote management and file transfer. New integrated remote management tools make it easy for helpdesk personnel to resolve problems on servers as well as workstations. They can run the Task Manager, edit system files and the Windows Registry, view the NT Event log, and perform many other functions directly from the pcAnywhere interface. Because security is crucial in remote sessions, pcAnywhere offers multiple levels of security. Its 13 different authentication methods include NT Domain, LDAP, and RSA SecurID. Other security tools include extensive logging and the ability to restrict access to known IP addresses. pcAnywhere also provides robust file-transfer capabilities. Users can put multiple files in the new Command Queue, then work uninterrupted while all the files transfer in the background. The Command Queue also streamlines system fixes and updates. Support personnel can use it to define a series of files and/or DOS commands, then send the queue to multiple systems. pcAnywhere version 11.5 also features a crisp new user interface.
